Whether it’s the addition of a few warm caramel highlights like Cara Delevingne or an all over coppery red like that of Emma Stone, color can take your hair to a whole new level of beauty.

What are the most popular trends for fall and winter?

BRONDE

It’s not blonde.  It’s not brown.  It’s the perfect blending of the two into something exquisitely gorgeous.  To get the bronde look, you simply add highlights (or lowlights) in two or more colors that are very similar to your natural hair color.  If you’re a brunette, you would add slightly lighter strands of blonde or caramel around the hair line and ends for a face-framing effect .  If you’re a blonde, you can get the look by mixing strands of light brown and darker blonde into your natural color.  The key is to have a lot of your original color showing through and to have your highlights applied in a way that looks sun-drenched and very natural.

COPPER & METALLIC

If you have warm skin tones, the addition of a rich coppery hue or russet red to your hair can be absolutely stunning, especially when you add a gloss treatment on top of the color for a radiant  glow.   The process gives your hair the luster and shine of polished metallic copper.   If you’re not a fan of copper, other warm tones such as bronze, gold, strawberry, and titanium brown can create a similar polished metal effect.

PLATINUM BLONDE

The silvery shimmer of platinum blonde is another color trend that is perfect for winter.  Platinum looks amazing with long wavy locks like those of Daenerys Targaryen, and it looks equally stunning with a pixie cut.   It’s also a nice canvas for pastel accents like lavender and pink , which can be placed along the tips or ends of your hair for a pop of color.

CHOCOLATE AND CARAMEL

If you’ve got darker hair (either dark brown or ebony black)  you can add warmth to your style this fall with subtle, facing framing highlights in colors such as caramel or chocolate.  Just a few soft ribbons of color are often all it takes to brighten up darker tones with depth and dimension.

HOW TO CREATE A RUNWAY STYLE IN LESS THAN 5 MINUTES

If you’ve got hair that is shoulder length or beyond, you’ll love one of this fall’s favorite runway hair trends.  It’s a less fussy version of the classic French twist that is perfect for those days when you’d like to feel chic but you don’t have a lot of time or energy to spend in front of the mirror.   Models for Chanel had some of the best variations of the twist, created by securing the hair with a statement pin and then wrapping wide ribbon around the head like a headband.   Models for other designers had their hair gathered into loose knot-like chignons secured with either an elastic band or wrapped in leather.

Here's how to get a modern spin on the classic French twist in under 5 minutes:

Other popular styles on the fashion runways this year have ranged from ponytails and Bohemian waves to side parts and stick straight styles.  For accessories, headbands have been spotted everywhere on the catwalks, especially leather ones.  Metallic pins and statement hair jewelry have been seen in many designer collections, too.
